Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Peachycleancutz@yahoo.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Unlike a traditional grooming salon which typically asks to keep your pet for 4-6 hours,

your  beloved pets mobile spa day is guaranteed to last just 1-2 hours!

*Time is dependent on services requested, the size, breed, coat conditions, and temperament of your pet.

We provide estimated prices for all our spa services, except  add-ons, quick services, and special promotions.

Pricing reflects the time and care invested in pampering your beloved pet, from the moment they arrive at the spa to the final finishing touches!

Our services are categorized by type and organized by size, but please note that several factors influence the overall cost.

Because of the variations among dog/cat breeds and coat types, we cannot assign a standard price solely based on size or breed. For instance, two dogs/cats of the same breed and weight might have entirely different coats, coat lengths, weights, and temperaments. The final cost will be determined upon completion of the grooming service.

At Peachy Clean Cutz, we do not offer anal gland expression as part of our grooming services. Here are some important reasons why we have made this decision:

1. Natural Expression: Many dogs naturally express their anal glands during normal bowel movements. Healthy stools help facilitate this process, meaning that if your dog has regular, healthy poops, they are likely expressing their anal glands as intended.

2. Potential Risks: Anal gland expression can lead to complications if not done properly. Untrained individuals may inadvertently cause irritation or injury to the anal area, which can lead to discomfort, pain, or infections. Additionally, expressing the anal glands unnecessarily may weaken the gland muscles over time, making it more difficult for dogs to express their own glands. This can create a cycle where dogs become reliant on expression, leading to more frequent needs for manual intervention.

3. Veterinary Expertise: If your dog is exhibiting signs of anal gland issues—such as discomfort, frequent licking, or changes in stool consistency—it’s crucial to consult a veterinarian. A vet can provide a thorough examination and determine if there is an underlying condition, such as impaction or infection, that requires treatment.

4. Safety First: Our priority is the health and well-being of your pet. By referring potential anal gland issues to a qualified veterinarian, we ensure that your dog receives the best possible care and attention.

If you notice any unusual behaviors in your dog or have concerns about their anal glands or overall health, please consult your veterinarian. They can provide guidance tailored specifically to your pet's needs.

*For best results we recommend scheduling a Bath spa + Treatment every 2-4 weeks depending on skin

We recommend scheduling a puppy's first “bath spa” or "tidy trim" after they have received at least two sets of puppy vaccinations, typically between 6-12 weeks of age depending on the breeder or veterinarian's guidance. This early introduction to grooming is beneficial for several reasons.

Why Early Puppy Grooming is Beneficial

Early grooming plays a crucial role in preparing puppies for lifelong comfort with grooming processes. Here are some key advantages:

- Reduces Stress: Starting grooming early helps puppies become accustomed to the process, reducing stress and anxiety associated with grooming as they grow older

- Promotes Good Habits: Regular grooming from a young age encourages good behavior and helps maintain the health of their coat, preventing matting and tangling

- Prevents Complications: Introducing grooming early can prevent complications such as coat imbalances that may occur if a double-coated dog is groomed improperly

By beginning grooming early, after the necessary vaccinations, you can set the stage for an stress-free and enjoyable grooming experience for your puppy.

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE YOUR PUPPY FOR HIS/HER FIRST SPA DAY ?

1.) Get Them Used to Handling: Spend time gently handling your puppy’s paws, ears, and tail at home. This will help them acclimate to being touched and groomed.

3.) Introduce Grooming Tools: Show your puppy the grooming tools (like brushes and combs) and let them sniff and investigate. Use treats to create positive associations with these items.

4.) Create a Routine: Establish a regular grooming routine at home. Brush your puppy’s coat, check their ears, and toes so they become accustomed to the process.

5.) Short Sessions: Keep the grooming sessions short and positive. Focus on a few minutes of brushing and then reward your puppy with treats and praise to encourage good behavior.

6.) Exercise Before the Appointment: Give your puppy plenty of exercise before their grooming appointment to help burn off any excess energy, making them calmer during the session.

7.) Potty: Take your puppy for a potty break just before the appointment to ensure they’re comfortable and lessen the likelihood of accidents.

8.) Be Patient and Calm: Your puppy can sense your emotions, so stay calm and patient while giving your puppy to the groomer. This will help them feel secure and relaxed.

9.) Celebrate! : After the grooming session, celebrate the experience with praise and a little extra playtime or a special treat, reinforcing that grooming is a positive activity!

~At Peachy Clean Cutz, unless medically necessary, we DO NOT  recommend giving first-time puppies a full body haircut. We believe it’s essential to treat the first one or two grooming sessions as introductory visits. This approach helps ensure that your puppy becomes comfortable with the grooming process, preventing any unnecessary stress or fear. Our goal is to create a positive experience that will set the foundation for a lifetime of enjoyable grooming!

Cats, both long-haired and short-haired, greatly benefit from regular grooming, which is important for their health, comfort, and hygiene.

Key reasons why grooming is essential:

1.) Maintaining Coat Health and Preventing Mats:

  • Long-haired cats require more frequent grooming—ideally daily or every other day—to prevent tangles and mats that can cause pain and skin issues.
  • Short-haired cats also benefit from regular brushing (about once a week) to remove loose hair, dirt, and debris while distributing natural oils for a healthy, shiny coat. Grooming aids in preventing uncomfortable matting and keeps the coat clean and smooth

2.) Reducing Hairballs and Shedding Issues:

Professional brushing removes loose fur that might otherwise be ingested and form hairballs. Reducing loose hair through grooming helps minimize hairballs, which can cause digestive discomfort and create unwanted messes around your home

3.) Hygiene Maintenance Beyond Brushing:

Professional grooming includes tasks that are harder for owners to manage effectively, such as ear cleaning, eye cleaning and nail trimming. This contributes to better hygiene and prevents infections, mites, and nail-related pain or injury

While your dog could be shedding for specific reasons such as seasonal changes, health issues, age, or pregnancy, ALL HEALTHY DOGS SHED, and we are happy to help with that!

We can perform a de-shed service; however, this will only remove the hair that is ready to be let go at that time.

Shedding is the natural process of discarding old hair (or coat) while making way for new growth. There is no way to completely stop it. It's also important to note that if shedding hair remains on the skin, it may cause skin problems because the skin cannot breathe. This is similar to a matted coat; once this happens, issues such as hot spots, dandruff, and itching can occur.

Dogs have fragile skin compared to humans, and they need their hair (or coat) to protect their skin. Unless medically necessary, we avoid performing extreme short haircuts on any breeds.

At Peachy Clean Cutz, health and wellbeing are extremely important, and for this reason, we will never shave down any double-coated dogs (unless medically necessary). Their coats serve as barriers, protecting against external elements. Shaving double-coated dogs can cause alopecia, disrupt temperature regulation, and expose them to health complications.
